I think shoes are pretty much the bane of my female life, aside from every other feminine issue. Sneakers just don't go with feminine dresses. Or maybe I simply don't know how to rock the particular combi. *sigh* Fashion. it's a love-hate-relationship.
Shoes galore! |
There's about 5 more photos of shoes with different designs that I snapped a photo of. But that's just too much. I only pick those that made me do more than a double take. haha!
Box of Chocolates, Lift Buttons, & an adorable hot water bottle. |
I didn't have work on Fri, the last weekday before CNY. Off day for everyone to prepare for CNY eve's reunion dinner. I didn't have much to do in the afternoon, so what did I do? I went shoe shopping with Doca, J's sister-in-law. She is so awesome! We went to Takashimaya and I got gelato for us to share. Found out about her love for rum & raisin & the folks at Venezia Gelato Italiano were simply hilarious! They handed out samples of everything like it was free flow! Real friendly folks.. my generation most probably. They made Doca laugh so much. Hahaha! Even got her to try the chili chocolate flavored gelato. In which, she then made me try it too.. Verdict? Not a single tinge of chili at all. the chocolaty taste overwhelmed the chili i suppose.. Although there was a slight tingling coolness afterwards.
My Shoe Hunt got me covering..
313@Somerset, Wisma, Takashimaya (twice), Metro @ Paragon, Robinsons at The CentrePoint, and even Plaza Singapura, on Friday.
Saturday brought me to Tampines Mall, Tampines 1, and Century Square.
& no, it doesn't even end there.
Sunday saw me heading back to Takashimaya for an Easy Spirit boot. On the way home, I popped by Robinsons at Raffles City to check out an itti & otto shoe.
Lesson learnt at the end of all the hustle and bustle?
Don't just look at the design of the shoe, try it if you like it. Reduces options when comfort level is taken into consideration before anything else.
oh. & that the Abercrombie & Fitch at Orchard Road is 99% nightclub. hahahaha! at least the look and feel of it. x_x
failed Domo! *sobs* |
Wanted to do Domo for CNY, but as you can see.. My best efforts all went into my thumb. & even that was a really ugly sight. x_x"
Gift for J's family when I bai nian on the 2nd day of CNY |
First time bai nian at his place! Was quite awkward for me, although everyone was really friendly. I even received a red packet from J's eldest brother, Nat! Doca's husband of course. ^^ & I put the instax into use! took some shots for Nat & Doca with their daughter, McKayla.
One thing that really took me by surprise was that.. I didn't receive a red packet from J's parents. Now now now, don't take it the wrong way. It's not the money, but the meaning of the "紅包" or the "紅紙".. I grew up understanding that the red packet represents blessings. That it is not auspicious/polite to refuse it when given. So I couldn't help but think.. "Does J's parents not like me?" .. "Is it because I'm not of the same religion as them?" .. and so on.. such thoughts and questions just wouldn't stop reeling in my head. After much thinking, I decided to simply assume that J's family culture is probably different. That red packets are for children and people who have yet to start working. After all.. the aren't as traditional as my family is. So.. heck! *smiles*
