A Relatively Green Welcoming..

I came home in the early hours of last Monday, while the entire household was still sleeping. First thing I did was to unwrap the box of fragile goods. Because the moment I saw it on the luggage belt, I knew something wasn't right. My poor bottle of apple juice was shattered! Ahh well.. more on that in another post.

Here's what greeted me after being away for a little over 2 weeks.

before I left for Australia, I stuck some cuttings in, so I'm pretty shocked to see everything intact with better than expected growth! *gasp*

Please don't start on how my green friends are living in overcrowded conditions. I can no longer have my plants growing happily in the sunniest part of the house (which is at my window). *sigh* The lack of pot/planter space is so bad, I'm thinking of putting up my babies for adoption! \(T_T )/
Meh. Shall not think about it for now.

Unexpected Visitor in the Garden..

Currently cooped up at home, trying to avoid the haze. Well, I believe there's been enough news/ personal opinions regarding the haze (more than enough complaints too)! So here's something clean(?) and definitely green to post about.

After watering my pot of lemon balm, I noticed that two leaves were stuck together. I was afraid the leaves may rot or something if they didn't dry properly, so I tried to pull them apart. That was when I discovered some white webby thingy.. & then.. the lil' visitor fell out, squirming.

After extensive research (done only because it actually got to the pupa stage), it turns out to be a.. moth. of sorts. (-_-")

why.. hello there lil' one~

slow but steady..

Some progress in my lil' indoor garden. There's sweet basil, lemon balm, chili, and some mint. oh! and the pineapple mint from way back. *smiles* Waiting for the mint seed to germinate anytime now.. And for the baby chili plants to grow bigger. :)
I've since pulled out the cilantro /  coriander cause it didn't seem to show any signs of growing and I dumped the garlic cause there were lots of different kinds of bugs. Teeny grey like flies that don't fly. Small whitish slug / grub. Then there was a white/translucent worm, crawling around the roots. I didn't want a possible infestation to spread, so I simply threw it out.

Well then, till the next garden update it's time to exercise some lots of patience!

Garden Dreaming.

Oh my. major error. Cilantro* eeks!

I planted some sweet basil seeds yesterday. There's also the cilantro/coriander from the market. The roots are still intact, so I plucked off some of its old stems and plopped it into a pot of potting soil. It was really limp yesterday, and it felt as though it wouldn't live through the night. However, it seems like it's doing better today! *cheers* The sudden transition from fridge to soil might have cause it to go into shock. Not quite sure, but I hope it grows well! I'm not a fan of chinese parsley/cilantro, but I do want to see my plants grow. After that, feed my parents. Cause they use lots of cilantro. Ha ha!

Getting down to starting my lil' herb garden has made me realize a lot of things. I'll just mention a few..
For starters, do your homework. Knowledge about what you want to do, before plunging head first into unknown waters, is always important. It's always good to know what you need to do to build a fine dream.
The next equally important thing would be, patience. Lots of patience. If dreams were instant, it's either a very current reality or a wish that came true. So think twice & exercise some patience. *smiles*

Will not be touching soil till next week! In an attempt to exercise patience & to refrain from over tinkering with the seeds/plants. Cause too much love might just kill it. o(´^｀)o
