You know how married couples or couples living together have fights over something as trivial as "not to leaving the toilet seat up". In movies or sitcoms, the toilet seat issue is usually joked about or fought over. With the females requesting the males to leave the seat down and the males.. to just leave the toilet seats as it is after use.
I found several reasons why most females prefer the seats down. & as a female myself, I find the reasons are quite laughable. The only reason I would prefer to have the seats down, is to simply save myself the time and hassle of putting the seat down. Especially good when one's really urgent. (._. )
Yet, I would much rather have the toilet seats up. Just leave the damn thing up please.
Simple because 'splatters' / water won't get on to the seat. You know, the part where your bum actually makes contact with, not the rim. Even if the men wipe the seat down after themselves, the ladies would still have to check. It'll be quite icky to sit on some leftover pee splatter or water (even if it's just condensation from a hot shower, the skin will still feel different).
When you erase the possibility of liquid on the seat..*edit* I saved this as a draft and forgot to post it when I was done on 24 Nov.. (._. ;) so.. here's more to add..
#1 there'll be no need to wipe (save toilet paper, save the trees)
#2 seat remains comfortably dry / dries faster if wet
#3 reduced fear of sitting on pee splatter (hygiene > convenience)
The issue of the toilet seat came up at my cousin's wedding the next day. I couldn't help but laugh when heard the groom reading the "contract" as the final obstacle to clear before he can fetch his bride. (It's a Chinese custom I believe.) In the "contract", the groom promises to always leave the toilet seat down among other things. Which reminds me.. when & if I get married.. any contract should include the leaving of toilet seats up, clean, & dry. hehe!
I asked bunneh boy about the toilet seat too.. He said he'll just put it back to its previous position, before he used it. If it was already up, he'll just leave it up. I guess that works too.. haha. So long the seat is clean & dry! ~(^-^)~
Would you feel safer using the spoon that has been on the table for awhile, or one that's fresh from the cutlery drawer?
