Girls Day Out - With a Pinch of Salt

After the tragic news on Christmas Day, I still had to turn up for the gathering- not that I didn't want to. Somehow, I managed to hang on. hang on to what? well I don't know either. I just didn't want to let go or make a bee line for the easiest way out. Not this time, not when I have yet to put my all into this relationship. So the opposite of "letting go" would simply be, "hanging on".

Lunch was at With a Pinch of Salt, 297 Tanjong Katong Road. I went there all prepared to order without having to go back & forth in the menu. But as it turns out, their online menu is pitifully outdated. The prices differ by at least a dollar. With some items taken off the menu yet shown in the online menu. Festive decor was not bad though. Walls were lined with picture frames of varying shapes and sizes. All in all, the place looked pretty good.

First problem about my pasta is the button mushrooms. Why? Because the menu stated "shiitake mushrooms" among other ingredients in the main dish. I have never gotten used to the taste of button mushrooms. So when shiitake turned out to be button, I was sad. I even asked them about the different mushrooms used, & the staff simply told me "oh. no more shiitake". Well, she could have told me earlier when I placed my order with everyone else! *sigh*
The pasta was quite hard. I'm guessing it was extra al dente. Nevertheless, edible. But I wouldn't go back for a second visit.

After lunch, we ended up bus-ing to my place for a few hours of xbox360-kinect fun. Everyone except for Junie & myself earned blisters for themselves. Don't know how they did it cause I've played Just Dance 4 for extended periods & yet, not a single blister ever!
