Baking Quest: Cinnamon-Currant Swirl Bread (White)

freshly kneaded white bread dough with plumped currants behind

After much deliberation, I am back in the wagon of bread making. This time, there wasn't a single bit of wholemeal. I'm not against healthy eating/baking, I simply want to get a feel of the bread dough. & honestly speaking, I've forgotten most of my past bread making trials & errors (and not once did I get 'shaggy dough').

floured currants to absorb any excess liquid from plumping them
I didn't have any raisins stocked up in my lil' bakery, so I had to make do with currants

all rolled out with some currants folded in
then brushed with eqq wash, then a light layer of cinnamon sugar with currants

look at how it shines~ haha. that's after the egg wash step
followed by a close up of the cinnamon sugar with currants

a too small loaf for my loaf pan, with cinnamon sugar water pooling at the bottom..

*boom!*

the sweet sticky mess left behind in the loaf pan

a huge crack running the length of the loaf

cinnamon currant swirl bread
but look! pretty swirls~ *squeals*

sliced cinnamon currant swirl bread

Will be making this again some time soon. Only next time, I'll have to up the amount of flour. There just wasn't enough for full loaf of pretty cinnamon swirls! *grins*

swirly twirly, spin & spin~
